In recent years, government departments have placed increasing emphasis on energy conservation in the steel industry, mandating the promotion of energy-saving renovations in existing steel facilities, ensuring new steel projects meet energy efficiency standards, and establishing energy consumption monitoring and analysis management systems.

These efforts aim to drive energy conservation in the steel sector from three perspectives: equipment, processes, and management.

Taking a certain steel company as an example, it operates multiple divisions including ironmaking, steelmaking, rolling, oxygen production, and power plants.

The primary energy sources consumed are electricity, tap water, oxygen, nitrogen, reclaimed water, treated water, coal gas, and steam. By deploying various smart meters and sensors, such as electricity meters, water meters, gas meters, and flow meters, across each division and connecting them to the WideIOT energy consumption data acquisition gateway, real-time data collection is achieved. This facilitates the construction of an energy consumption monitoring and management platform, enabling refined energy management within the factory.

System Functionalities

  1. Automated Meter Reading for Energy Sources: The system automates the reading of water, electricity, cooling, heating, and gas meters, uploading the data to the energy consumption monitoring system or cloud platform via 5G/4G/WIFI/Ethernet, achieving precise measurement and automated monitoring of various energy sources across each division.

  2. Energy Data Analysis and Anomaly Detection: By integrating real-time and historical energy consumption data from each division, the system establishes energy-saving targets and provides functionalities such as energy data analysis, abnormal energy consumption alarms, and fault analysis, offering reliable data support and decision-making bases.

  3. Data Integration and Rapid Alerting: The system integrates energy data, production data, and equipment data, providing rapid alerting mechanisms through WeChat, SMS, and email.

This facilitates the establishment of a standardized energy management system and fault maintenance processes, reducing personnel input and enhancing management efficiency.
  4. Data Interface Reservation for Regulatory Compliance: The system reserves data interfaces to facilitate seamless connection with national regulatory authorities, supporting regional energy consumption dual-control targets and assisting companies in applying for subsidies and promoting their initiatives.
