In smart manufacturing factories, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) are crucial devices for achieving automated production.

 They are responsible for monitoring and controlling various factory equipment, such as robots, sensors, and actuators. The PLC smart gateway connects PLCs to upper computers or cloud platforms, enabling data interconnection and allowing factories to monitor production in real-time and manage controls. This facilitates instant access to vital information such as factory equipment status, alarm information, and production data.

WideIOT has introduced a PLC smart gateway with the capability to interface with PLCs from various manufacturers, including Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider, Delta, and INOVANCE.

 It collects data from PLCs and transmits it to local upper computers or cloud platforms via 5G/4G/WIFI/Ethernet, implementing encrypted transmission and edge computing to ensure data security and integrity. Additionally, it enables remote control and maintenance of PLCs.

System Functions

1. Data Collection and Transmission: Collects data from PLCs and transmits it to upper computers or cloud platforms (via 5G/4G/WIFI/Ethernet) for visualization, facilitating subsequent data analysis and decision-making.

2. Fault Alarm and Notification: Monitors the operational status of PLCs and promptly sends notifications to relevant personnel (via WeChat, SMS, email, etc.) in case of abnormal parameters or other fault conditions, enabling timely handling and maintenance.

3. Remote Monitoring and Control: Allows managers to monitor equipment status and operational parameters in real-time through configuration screens and adjust parameters or issue commands to control the equipment, enabling rapid management in case of abnormalities.

4. Data Security and Protection: Equipped with robust security mechanisms and transmission protocols, including data encryption and identity authentication, to ensure secure data transmission and prevent data leakage and external attacks.

5. Remote Maintenance and Uploading/Downloading: Paired with a remote maintenance express, the gateway enables remote programming, debugging, and program uploading/downloading for PLCs in different locations, reducing travel expenses and improving maintenance efficiency while cutting costs.
