Solution Overview

The top-drive rig data acquisition and remote monitoring system developed by WideIOT primarily consists of industrial smart gateways and a cloud-based remote monitoring platform. The industrial gateway connects to PLCs to collect real-time operating parameters from the top-drive rig—such as hydraulic pressure, vibration, temperature, and pump pressure. The collected data is then transmitted via wireless communication (5G/4G) to the remote monitoring cloud platform (with optional Wi-Fi/Ethernet transmission to local systems as well).


On the cloud platform, the data is visualized and analyzed, generating dashboards and reports covering equipment status, process parameters, alarm events, maintenance work orders, and more. Edge Data Computing – Supports intelligent data acquisition, filtering, alarm calculation, trigger-on-change, formula-based computation, grouping strategies, and other edge computing functions to establish data standards and reduce cloud server load.

Cloud Integration – Supports integration with remote software platforms via MQTT, MODBUS, OPC UA, SQL, HTTP, and other protocols. Compatible with custom-developed cloud platforms, WideIOT's remote maintenance platform, and third-party clouds.
