IoT Solution for Energy Consumption Monitoring in Chemical Plants

Published: 2026-10-26 13:59:05
In today's world, with energy consumption rising and environmental awareness growing, energy monitoring and management have become especially important for chemical plants—industries typically characterized by high pollution, high energy consumption, and high emissions. To actively support national "energy-saving and consumption-reduction" and "dual carbon" goals, provincial and municipal authorities are requiring key energy-using entities to fulfill their energy-saving responsibilities, strengthen energy management, build online energy consumption monitoring systems, and connect them to provincial-level online monitoring platforms for key energy-using entities on schedule.

To meet this need, WideIOT offers a highly efficient and reliable IoT solution for energy consumption monitoring in chemical plants. By installing energy data acquisition gateways, the system collects real-time consumption data for multiple energy types—including water, electricity, gas, and heat—and transmits it via wireless networks to an energy monitoring platform. This enables real-time monitoring, early warning, management, control, and analysis of energy consumption—effectively improving energy management standards and energy utilization efficiency, reducing energy costs, and promoting sustainable enterprise development.

Main Functions

Users can view energy data dashboards via PC or mobile to understand energy consumption conditions, energy-saving indicators, energy proportions, and alarm frequency across the plant and individual workshops.

Consolidates and summarizes multiple energy data types for visualized chart display—supporting plant energy consumption statistics, year-over-year and month-over-month analysis, and insight into energy consumption per unit of product and per unit of output value.

Monitors equipment operating status and enables automatic alerting via WeChat, SMS, or email—helping quickly identify gaps and unreasonable practices in energy use and reduce energy waste.

Enables automated energy cost accounting, quickly calculating energy costs for the plant and workshops—including peak-period electricity volume and cost, off-peak electricity volume and cost, and average electricity volume and cost.

Supports expanded access to scenarios such as power distribution rooms, transformer stations, pump rooms, and boiler rooms—enabling safety monitoring and online management of these areas to ensure normal supply of various energy types and promptly detect and address abnormal faults.

Shares data with the maintenance management system to enable work order dispatch, claiming, alarm clearing, return, and review operations—tracking maintenance progress in real time and retaining operation logs to better support routine inspections and equipment repair and upkeep.
