Sudden water accumulation in urban underpass tunnels and sunken roads can trap and submerge vehicles, and the water is often difficult to drain quickly—easily leading to property damage and casualties. Therefore, monitoring and timely warning of waterlogging in underground parking garages, underpass tunnels, and sunken roads has become an issue that relevant authorities must address seriously.

WideIOT's urban waterlogging monitoring system is an IoT solution based on IoT and wireless communication technologies. It is primarily applied in scenarios such as underground parking garages, basements, low-lying areas, enclosed underpasses, overpasses, and expressways. By deploying industrial gateways (RTUs) to connect to water level gauges, flow meters, rain gauges, and other devices within monitoring stations, the system uploads data in real time to monitoring and management department platforms. When safety limits are exceeded, alerts are automatically triggered—enabling timely management and control measures and improving flood prevention and disaster response capabilities.

System Functions

Real-time monitoring of water accumulation levels in underground garages, basements, low-lying areas, underpass overpasses, and tunnels, with data transmitted remotely to the urban waterlogging monitoring and early warning center via 4G/5G wireless networks.

Automatic notifications via WeChat, SMS, or email when water level data in underground garages, basements, low-lying areas, underpass overpasses, and tunnels exceeds safety limits.

The system can integrate with local drainage pump stations for coordinated management, enabling remote control of pump start/stop based on water level alarm information—improving management responsiveness.

Monitoring points at critical road sections can be expanded with real-time video surveillance capabilities, providing intuitive visual confirmation of road waterlogging conditions and establishing a dual-assurance mechanism.

The system software provides map display, data storage, data query, data statistics, and curve analysis functions, with support for data export and archiving.

Through data interfaces and protocol adaptation, the system can connect to higher-level integrated command and dispatch platforms or other management department platforms, enabling automatic data sharing and collaborative management.
