Remote Online Groundwater Monitoring System Solution

Published: 2026-09-18 16:14:34
Groundwater resources are more complex than surface water resources. Changes in their quality and quantity—as well as the environmental factors and migration patterns that influence these changes—are difficult to observe directly. At the same time, groundwater overexploitation and water pollution caused by human activities often lead to slow-onset problems such as land subsidence and ecological degradation. Once these changes accumulate to a certain point, they can result in irreversible damage.

Therefore, to ensure the sustainable use and effective protection of groundwater, we must rely on long-term groundwater monitoring to stay informed of dynamic changes in a timely manner. This requires establishing a comprehensive automated groundwater monitoring system to achieve scientific management and protection of groundwater resources.

By connecting groundwater level gauges, flow meters, water quality analyzers, temperature sensors, and other devices to WideIOT hydrological gateways (RTUs), the system collects real-time data on water level, flow rate, water quality, and water temperature, and transmits it via wireless networks to water conservancy department platforms. Managers can monitor real-time data from monitoring wells across different regions without leaving their offices, and analyze visualized data reports and trend curves—enabling optimized groundwater management and safeguarding groundwater security.

Features

GIS Map Display – Real-time display of water level, water temperature, water quality, and flow rate data from each monitoring well, along with their location distribution, on a GIS electronic map.
Station Information Management – Enables editing of basic information for each automated monitoring station, including station type, equipment type, communication method, and monitoring indicators.
Data Sharing – Real-time data is automatically written to the database, enabling data sharing for browsing and management by relevant departments such as land resources and meteorology.
Automatic Alerts – When abnormal data is detected, alerts are automatically sent via WeChat, SMS, or email, enabling timely response measures.
Data Resumption – When network connectivity is interrupted, data messages are temporarily stored locally. Once communication is restored, all pending data is retransmitted to ensure completeness.
