Temperature and Humidity Data Acquisition Solution for Air-Cooled Server Rooms

Published: 2026-04-13 11:37:37

In arid regions, air-cooling technology is a suitable method for cooling data server rooms. However, the issue of high energy consumption must still be avoided and controlled, requiring a reasonable balance between ambient temperature/humidity and cooling efficiency. To address this, WideIOT provides a solution for collecting temperature and humidity data and sending it to a server room management platform.

Requirements

There are many temperature and humidity monitoring points, requiring full coverage. Automated data collection should replace manual meter reading to avoid blind spots.

Since the monitoring data is relatively simple, data can be transparently transmitted to the server room management platform, where calculations and processing will be handled.

The local server (hosting the HMI/SCADA software) requires Ethernet communication.

Solution

WideIOT deploys data acquisition terminals that can connect to multiple temperature and humidity sensors for one-to-many data collection. The data is then transmitted over Ethernet to the server room management platform, ensuring secure, stable, complete, and reliable data acquisition communication, providing data support for server room environmental monitoring and management.

Project Benefits

Management personnel can view temperature, humidity, and alarm information for various server rooms and internal points directly from a local computer.

Abnormal data automatically triggers alarms via the platform, SMS, email, WeChat, etc., while aggregated information is collected for centralized management.

The data acquisition terminals feature multi-IO connectivity, allowing project deployment at lower equipment cost and reducing overall project expenses.

The terminals are designed with high/low temperature tolerance, low power consumption, and anti-electromagnetic interference, ensuring long-term stable operation.

Based on data reports, management personnel can reasonably regulate fans to maintain safe, stable, and energy-efficient temperature and humidity levels in the server room.
