Remote Monitoring IoT System Solution for Hydrographic Survey Vessels

Published: 2026-06-15 11:06:08

Hydrographic survey vessels are smart equipment used for automated hydrological data collection. They can monitor water flow velocity, direction, flow rate, water depth, water quality, and underwater topography in reservoirs, rivers, lakes, and other water bodies. These vessels effectively replace manual labor and provide comprehensive and reliable data support for water ecological protection, ecological flow management, and related tasks.

To address this need, WideIOT provides a 4G wireless gateway. The gateway can connect to flow meters, current meters, water quality monitors, and other instruments, as well as the vessel's generator set. It collects realtime data including flow velocity, direction, flow rate, water depth, water quality, voltage, current, and vessel location, and enables 4G internet access. This allows a hydrological monitoring and management platform to remotely monitor, alarm, manage, control, and statistically analyze data from various water bodies, significantly improving operational efficiency and management.

Key Features

Collects realtime data from flow meters, current meters, water quality monitors, and other devices, covering key parameters such as flow velocity, direction, flow rate, water depth, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and water temperature.

Connects to the vessel's generator set to monitor realtime operating parameters such as voltage, current, fuel consumption, and rotational speed. Accurately obtains the vessel's location, speed, heading, and other information, with track playback support.

Supports custom threshold alarms (e.g., water level exceeding limits, abnormal flow velocity, poor water quality, low battery, etc.). Alarm notifications are sent via WeChat, SMS, and email to ensure management personnel can respond immediately.

Provides remote gateway maintenance, device firmware updates, and remote log viewing, reducing onsite operation and maintenance costs and enabling remote fault diagnosis and remote programming/maintenance.

Supports data transmission using protocols such as HJ212 and SL651. Seamlessly connects to hydrological center databases, water resource management systems, or thirdparty systems to meet requirements for water data reporting, emergency dispatch, and ecological flow supervision.
