An edible fungus production facility has strict requirements for the growing environment, as parameters such as temperature, humidity, light intensity, and carbon dioxide (CO₂) concentration are highly sensitive. Traditional production methods suffer from issues such as extensive management, delayed environmental adjustments, and inconsistent product quality. To address these challenges, WideIOT deploys industrial IoT gateways to collect real-time environmental parameters and equipment operating data within the cultivation rooms. The data is transmitted to the production management platform via 5G/4G/WiFi/Ethernet networks, enabling precise environmental control for edible fungus growth, remote monitoring of production processes, and data analytics – ultimately helping to improve product quality and production efficiency.
1. Comprehensive Data Collection
The gateway is equipped with multiple communication interfaces, including serial ports, Ethernet ports, and I/O ports. It supports real-time collection of environmental data such as temperature, humidity, light intensity, and CO₂ concentration inside the cultivation rooms, as well as the operating status of PLC-controlled equipment including humidifiers, air conditioners, fans, and lighting systems.

The gateway supports multiple network connectivity options, including 5G/4G, WiFi, and wired Ethernet, allowing flexible selection and networking based on the layout of the cultivation rooms. Features such as data resumption after interruption and automatic network reconnection ensure that data is completely and reliably uploaded to the cloud platform, even in complex environments.
3. Remote Monitoring and Unattended Management
Management personnel can remotely view the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) dashboard of the cultivation rooms via mobile phones or computers, monitor real-time environmental trends in each growing zone, equipment operating status, and video feeds. This enables 24/7 unattended management and reduces the cost of manual inspections.
4. Smart Alerts and Remote Control
When environmental parameters exceed preset thresholds (e.g., temperature too high, CO₂ concentration too high), the system automatically sends notifications to management personnel via WeChat, SMS, or email. It also supports remote control of fans, humidifiers, lights, and other equipment, allowing prompt adjustments to the growing environment and preventing potential losses.
5. Data Analytics and Production Optimization
The system can generate environmental trend reports, equipment operation logs, and production statistics on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. It aggregates key parameters for different growth stages (e.g., inoculation, mycelium growth, fruiting), helping technical staff scientifically analyze the impact of environmental conditions on yield and quality. This supports the optimization of cultivation processes and equipment configurations, ultimately reducing energy consumption and R&D costs.
