Tea Processing Equipment DCS Data Acquisition IoT System Solution

Published: 2026-06-23 11:10:53

A certain tea production workshop faces numerous management challenges in its production operations. The workshop is equipped with scattered processing equipment such as spreading machines, rolling machines, and drying machines, along with environmental sensors and energy meters. Currently, all data relies on manual transcription and local control, which is not only inefficient and prone to human error but also fails to enable 24/7 continuous monitoring of the entire production process. As a result, it is difficult to intervene promptly when process parameters deviate from optimal ranges, which compromises product quality consistency and limits further production capacity expansion.

To address this, WideIOT deploys industrial intelligent gateways to connect to the central DCS system. These gateways can collect data on the operating status and process parameters of spreading machines, rolling machines, drying machines, and other equipment, as well as temperature and humidity in the aromaconditioning room, and power consumption data from smart meters. The collected data is then reported to a digital workshop management platform via 4G networks, enabling comprehensive monitoring, alerting, management, control, and statistical analysis of production equipment, workshop environment, and factory energy usage. This helps improve workshop management efficiency and production productivity, paving the way for a smart factory.

Achieved Functions

The gateway features multiple communication interfaces (serial ports, network ports, I/O, etc.) and multiprotocol parsing capabilities. Without requiring modifications to the existing DCS program, it can rapidly collect data on production equipment operating status and process parameters, temperature and humidity in the aromaconditioning room, and power consumption from smart meters via protocols such as OPC UA and Modbus.

For equipment faults and abnormal parameters, alert rules can be flexibly configured. Once monitoring data becomes abnormal, the system immediately sends alert notifications to relevant responsible personnel via multiple channels including WeChat, SMS, and email, clearly indicating the fault location and alert details. This facilitates timely corrective actions and helps eliminate potential accidents at an early stage.

Through mobile or computer terminals, managers can remotely perform start/stop control on PLC devices, or adjust fans, humidifiers, and other equipment to respond to unexpected operating conditions. This reduces the time spent on manual site visits, enables rapid response to abnormalities, and ensures production safety and environmental safety.
