The IEC 104 meter is a common electrical metering device that uses TCP/IP as its underlying communication protocol. It is used to measure various devices in power systems, such as substations, generators, and switches. In factory energy monitoring projects, there is often a need to connect smart meters using the IEC 104 power protocol to an energy consumption monitoring platform—enabling real-time energy monitoring, energy data analytics, and energy-saving optimization.

By connecting multiple IEC 104 meters within a factory to WideIOT industrial IoT gateways, the gateways perform data acquisition and forward the data via 5G/4G/Wi-Fi/Ethernet to the energy monitoring platform. This enables energy management and data analytics across individual workshops and systems, better supporting enterprises in reducing costs, improving efficiency, and advancing energy-efficient production.

Data Acquisition – By collecting data from multiple IEC 104 meters and forwarding it to the energy monitoring platform, managers can view energy data trends and curve charts at any time, enabling visualized monitoring.
Energy Consumption Statistics – Provides energy consumption statistics for each workshop and system (lighting, air conditioning, etc.), with month-over-month and year-over-year comparison data to support timely adjustments to production strategies.
Threshold Alerts – Users can configure energy consumption thresholds. When abnormal energy data is detected, the system automatically triggers alerts via WeChat, SMS, or email.
