In the past, irrigation within agricultural districts relied on earthen canals, which were prone to significant water loss through leakage and evaporation. Moreover, fields farther from the water source received progressively less water, creating imbalances between cost and benefit that often led to conflicts. In modern irrigation district systems, however, concrete lining, booster pump stations, and integrated measurement-and-control gate units have been widely adopted. These advancements have substantially reduced seepage losses, ensured adequate water delivery to remote fields, and enabled precise metering of agricultural water usage—thereby maintaining a stable balance between water costs and production returns.
To address these needs, WideIOT offers a precision water metering and water-saving irrigation system solution based on water monitoring gateways (RTUs). This solution enables digital management of booster pump stations, integrated measurement-and-control gate units, irrigation equipment, and more, supporting comprehensive monitoring and precise control. By connecting pump station PLCs, gate PLCs, irrigation equipment PLCs, as well as sensors such as water level meters and flow meters, the system collects real-time equipment status and process parameters and uploads them to a remote monitoring platform. This allows managers to view, manage, and control operations from anywhere, ultimately improving water resource utilization efficiency and enhancing overall irrigation district management.
1. Real-Time Gate Monitoring and Remote Control
The system provides visualization dashboards and data reports, enabling users to monitor the opening status and flow data of each integrated measurement-and-control gate unit in real time via web or mobile terminals. Remote opening and closing operations are also supported.
2. Pump Station Monitoring and Remote Management
Operational status of all booster pump stations within the irrigation district can be viewed, including runtime conditions and electrical parameters of each pump, solenoid valve positions, as well as flow, water pressure, and water level readings. Remote control functionality is likewise available.
3. Soil Moisture Integration for Precision Irrigation
The system can be extended to incorporate soil moisture sensors in farmland, enabling accurate estimation of irrigation water requirements. This supports the implementation of rational irrigation strategies—such as scheduled or on-demand irrigation—thereby improving water use efficiency and reducing water costs.
4. Unified Facility Management and Automated Alerts

5. Comprehensive Water Usage Reporting and Analytics
Water consumption data across different sections of the irrigation district is compiled into statistical reports.
