Cold Chain Equipment Intelligent Monitoring and Maintenance Cloud Platform

Published: 2026-08-22 11:44:16

Background & Needs

A cold chain equipment distributor—responsible for the manufacturing, retrofitting, and sales of refrigerated trucks, cold storage PLCs, cold storage electrical panels, and cold storage touchscreen interfaces—wants to build a custom IoT monitoring platform for their cold chain operations. The goals are to monitor real-time data such as current, voltage, and power consumption for energy management, track temperature throughout the cold chain process online to effectively mitigate risks, and offer SaaS-based management services to their customers.

Solution

Refrigerated cabinets, refrigerated trucks, thermostats, sensors, and other equipment are connected via WideIOT industrial IoT gateways, which collect real-time data on temperature, humidity, current, and voltage from the cold storage units. This data is then uploaded to the cloud platform through either wired or wireless networks. Users can log in to the cloud platform from their phones or PCs to access configurable HMI dashboards, visualize all collected data, and leverage features such as remote monitoring, fault alerts, and remote maintenance.

The platform includes modules for project configuration management, one-click remote deployment and provisioning of gateways and devices, site management, power usage monitoring, and equipment alerting. With an intuitive configuration interface and simple workflows, the platform makes it easy to set up and scale networks flexibly, accelerating project delivery and deployment.

System Features

(1) Interactive Map Dashboard – Displays the distribution and status of all distributed sites and equipment, with visibility into online rates, failure rates, and other key metrics.
(2) Real-Time Monitoring & Alerting – Continuously tracks the operating status and energy consumption data of cold chain equipment, with proactive alerts and notifications to enable rapid corrective actions when issues arise.
(3) Drag-and-Drop HMI Configuration – Allows users to visually build process flow diagrams, bind them to live equipment data, and quickly identify anomalies or problem areas at a glance.
(4) Customizable Alert Rules – Automatically sends notifications via WeChat, SMS, or email when equipment failures or environmental anomalies are detected.
(5) VPN Maintenance Tunnel – Enables remote programming, debugging, and upload/download of programs to PLCs located at remote sites, eliminating the need for on-site visits.
