Remote Data Collection and Monitoring for Polishing Equipment via IoT Gateway

Published: 2026-08-20 13:42:27
Polishing plays a critical role in surface treatment processes such as electroplating, painting, and anodizing. In the early days, polishing was performed manually by workers who relied on experience and visual inspection to carry out grinding and finishing. This method not only harmed the environment and workers' health but also involved significant safety risks and high labor costs. As a result, it has gradually been replaced by automated polishing equipment.

Automated polishing equipment is typically non-standard machinery designed for specific processes and workpieces, capable of delivering high-efficiency grinding and polishing. Industrial robots are a common example of such equipment. The WideIOT industrial IoT gateway can collect data from the controller PLCs of various grinding and polishing machines and industrial robots, transmitting the data to cloud platforms for monitoring and management. This enables timely control and maintenance, ensuring smooth and orderly operations.

The PLC communicates with the cloud platform through the gateway, with support for 5G/4G/Wi-Fi/Ethernet and other networking options. Users can log in to the cloud platform via mobile or computer to view equipment operating status, polishing process parameters, and data such as pressure, temperature, humidity, and energy consumption. The platform provides reliable data analysis, playing a key role in factory energy optimization, quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction.

System Value

Device Access Management: The gateway supports access to PLCs, instruments, CNC machine tools, industrial robots, sensors, and other devices, with compatibility for a wide range of interfaces and protocols.

Distributed Map Management: With GIS map aggregation, the system displays the specific locations of sites across the country, along with key information such as equipment details, alarm status, and energy consumption metrics.

Intelligent Alarm Push: When equipment experiences current/voltage exceedances or faults, the monitoring center can send alarm notifications to maintenance personnel via mini-programs, official accounts, SMS, email, and other channels.

Operating Status Monitoring: Remotely monitor production equipment data including material weight, polishing time, motor current/voltage, motor speed, and other operating parameters, with data displayed in charts or tables.

Remote Maintenance: Through VPN networking technology, an IPSEC data transmission tunnel can be established, enabling remote PLC programming, debugging, and remote upload/download of programs.
