Solution for Remote Data Acquisition and Monitoring System for Fire Protection UPS (EPS)

Published: 2026-06-12 11:50:50

As requirements for information management and fire safety in industrial parks continue to rise, the Emergency Power Supply (EPS) system—being a critical power backup device—has become an essential part of fire protection management. In one particular industrial park, multiple EPS units are deployed to provide stable power to fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, evacuation signs, and other key facilities during unexpected power outages.

However, the existing EPS devices cannot be directly connected to the park's fire safety management platform due to protocol incompatibilities, so they currently operate in isolation. Maintenance personnel are still required to conduct regular onsite inspections and manually record equipment status. This leads to slow response times, lack of data transparency, and difficulty tracing faults—seriously affecting the reliability of the fire protection system and the park's emergency response capability. To address this, WideIOT deploys data acquisition gateways to efficiently connect EPS devices with the park's fire safety management platform, significantly improving the intelligent management of emergency power systems.

System Architecture

By deploying WideIOT industrial smart gateways at the EPS side, the system collects key operational parameters in real time, including input/output voltage, current, battery status, operating mode, and fault alarms. The gateways upload data to the park's fire safety management platform via 5G/4G/WiFi/Ethernet, enabling centralized monitoring and unified management of EPS equipment status. This allows for timely detection of anomalies and quick corrective actions, ensuring stable, reliable, and safe operation of the fire protection system.

Core Features

MultiProtocol Data Acquisition and Conversion – The gateway is equipped with multiple serial and Ethernet ports, supporting simultaneous connection to several EPS devices. It performs protocol conversion, edge computing, and other functions, allowing for fast integration with the park's existing fire safety management platform.

RealTime Monitoring and Alerting Mechanism – Custom alert rules can be configured. When abnormal data is detected, the system automatically sends notifications via WeChat, SMS, or email, helping maintenance personnel respond immediately and eliminate fire safety risks.

Data Visualization and Reporting – The platform's visual monitoring dashboard clearly displays the operating status, battery health, and historical fault records of each EPS device. Data reports can also be generated by device, by area, and over time.

IndustrialGrade Design and High Reliability – The gateway features wide temperature and wide voltage tolerance, strong antiinterference capability, and is built for harsh environments such as electrical rooms and lowvoltage equipment rooms in industrial parks. It also supports automatic reconnection after network outages and data resumption after interruptions, ensuring no data is lost during network fluctuations or disconnections.
