Remote Monitoring, Operation, and Maintenance Management System Solution for Mine Vehicle Washers

Published: 2026-05-12 11:18:54

As a critical piece of equipment for environmental compliance in mining operations, mine vehicle washers present significant challenges for manufacturers when it comes to after-sales maintenance: slow response times, high costs, and a lack of visibility into equipment status.

Because these washers are often installed in remote mining locations and typically run unattended, any malfunction may go unnoticed, leading to delayed responses. Traditional after-sales service relies on engineers traveling long distances to diagnose problems on-site. This not only results in high travel expenses but also leads to customer complaints due to long resolution times. Furthermore, without access to equipment operating data, manufacturers struggle to uate or improve their maintenance operations.

To address these pain points, WideIOT has developed a remote operation and maintenance system that combines industrial IoT gateways with an equipment management platform. By embedding an industrial IoT gateway into the PLC control cabinet of the mine vehicle washer, key data such as water pressure, motor current, water level, roller door status, and fault codes are collected in real time and uploaded to a cloud-based maintenance platform via 5G/4G networks. This enables remote monitoring, alerting, management, control, maintenance coordination, and data analysis.

Key Features

1. Remote Monitoring

Supports custom cloud-based HMI (human-machine interface) dashboards, allowing users to view the status of each vehicle washer—such as running/fault status, wash cycle time, voltage, current, water flow rate, and fan status—and generate visual data reports.

2. Fault Alerts

Detects abnormal operating conditions and triggers automatic alerts via WeChat, SMS, or email. This enables quick fault identification and diagnosis, allowing timely maintenance actions.

3. Equipment Management

Provides a GIS-based map view showing the location, operating status, key parameters, and customer information for each washer. Users can easily add, edit, or remove device information, giving them full visibility into the status of all sites.

4. Data Analytics

Performs big data analysis on metrics such as equipment utilization rate, failure rate, and water usage. This helps manufacturers make informed decisions, adjust business strategies, or guide product development efforts.

5. Maintenance Management

Logs and manages service records, including maintenance time, responsible personnel, and work notes. This allows for quick retri and tracking, helping to adjust schedules, allocate manpower and resources efficiently, and achieve optimal resource deployment.
