LoRa Data Collection Solution for Laboratory Environments

Published: 2026-04-27 14:25:01

In modern scientific research, product development, and teaching experiments, accurate collection of environmental data is fundamental to ensuring the reliability of experimental results. Whether in material durability testing, biological culture experiments, chemical stability studies, or electronic component aging tests, changes in environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, light, and vibration can significantly impact experimental outcomes.

However, laboratory environments often face a practical challenge. On one hand, experimental equipment is typically concentrated within a single lab or distributed across several adjacent rooms, making the space relatively contained. On the other hand, traditional wired data collection methods require extensive signal cables, which not only complicates installation and interferes with lab operations but also increases costs and makes flexible expansion difficult. To address this, WideIOT provides an IoT solution based on LoRa smart gateways.

By deploying LoRa smart gateways connected to temperature and humidity sensors, the system can collect real‑time temperature and humidity data from various points within the laboratory. The data is then transmitted over 5G/4G/WiFi/Ethernet to the cloud, enabling remote monitoring, alarming, management, control, and data analysis of the laboratory environment. This helps strengthen laboratory safety management and ensures the security of experiments.

Key Features

Managers can view temperature, humidity, and alarm information from different points inside each laboratory on their mobile phones or computers.

When abnormal data is detected, alerts are automatically sent via SMS, email, or WeChat, while alarm information is aggregated for centralized management.

The LoRa smart gateway supports multi‑IO connectivity, allowing project deployment with fewer devices and reducing overall project costs.

The gateway is designed to withstand extreme temperatures, features low power consumption, and includes electromagnetic interference protection, ensuring long‑term stable operation.

Based on data reports, managers can properly adjust air conditioning to maintain a safe and stable equipment room environment.
