Leading provider of industrial IoT solutions for digital and intelligent transformation. Established in 2011, we have served over 20,000 customers in more than 100 countries.
Driven by global sustainability goals and carbon reduction targets, solar power has become a core component of clean, low-carbon energy and is experiencing rapid large-scale growth. However, solar plant management still faces challenges such as insufficient data collection and high maintenance costs, which hinder further development in the industry.
To address these issues, WideIOT offers a low-cost, high-performance LoRa IoT solution. With features like low power consumption, wide coverage, and high reliability, it helps solar plants reduce costs, improve efficiency, and achieve smarter operations. Key application scenarios include:
1. Combiner Box Data Collection
By deploying LoRa data acquisition terminals connected to power meters inside combiner boxes, the system collects real-time parameters such as current and voltage from each PV string. The data is transmitted wirelessly via LoRa to a LoRa gateway, which then forwards it to the cloud over 4G. This provides essential data for remote monitoring, fault diagnosis, and performance uation.
2. Cleaning Robot Connectivity
Solar panel cleaning robots are often controlled by PLCs for automated operation. By connecting a LoRa terminal to the PLC, the system collects real-time data on robot status, operating hours, voltage, and current. This enables remote monitoring, alerts, and control, as well as remote upload/download of PLC programs, supporting intelligent, remote maintenance.
3. Weather and Environmental Monitoring
The LoRa data acquisition terminal comes with multiple I/O ports and can connect to various sensors, including PV tilt sensors, solar irradiance sensors, voltage/current sensors, and temperature/humidity sensors. Data is transmitted back to the LoRa gateway via the LoRa network and then to the internet over 4G. This allows real-time monitoring of PV module operating conditions and environmental factors, helping operators take action to improve power generation efficiency.
