In modern high-rise residential buildings and large-scale communities, the domestic water pump room serves as the "heart" of daily water supply for residents. Take a typical residential pump room as an example: it is equipped with 23 variable frequency water supply pumps (controlled by 6 PLC panels) and 2 stainless steel water tanks with a total effective volume of 198 cubic meters, providing 24/7 uninterrupted water supply to nearly a thousand households.
However, pump room operators face multiple challenges: equipment is scattered across different locations, manual inspections are low in frequency, fault detection is often delayed, and abnormalities in water quality or pressure cannot be alerted in real time. When sudden pressure changes or leaks occur in pump units or pipelines, operators often only become aware after receiving resident complaints. This negatively impacts residents' water experience, increases maintenance pressure, and raises the risk of equipment failure. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a remote monitoring and smart O&M system to transition from "reactive emergency repair" to "proactive alerting and intelligent control."
To address this, WideIOT deploys industrial intelligent gateways that connect to pump PLCs and instrumentation. These gateways collect real-time data such as pump operating status, inlet and outlet pressure, water tank level, instantaneous flow rate, cumulative water supply, and equipment current/voltage. The data is transmitted via 5G/4G/Ethernet to a centralized pump room monitoring and management platform, enabling remote monitoring, alerting, management, control, and data analysis. This provides reliable digital support for safe water supply and efficient maintenance.
Remote Real-Time Monitoring
Centrally display the start/stop status, operating frequency, inlet/outlet pressure, water tank level, instantaneous flow rate, cumulative water supply, and energy consumption of each pump. Support group management of multiple pump rooms, allowing unified oversight of all domestic water pump rooms across a community from a single platform.
Smart Alerts and Warnings
Customizable thresholds for pressure (upper/lower limits), water level (high/low), and water quality parameters (e.g., residual chlorine, turbidity). When abnormal data is detected, the system immediately notifies management personnel via WeChat, SMS, or email, shifting from reactive response to proactive alerting.
Remote Control and Scheduling
The gateway supports sending control commands to PLCs. Authorized O&M personnel can remotely start/stop pumps, adjust variable frequency drive settings, and switch between primary and backup pumps. This enables demand-based water supply, avoids prolonged inefficient operation, and extends equipment lifespan.
Data Analysis and Decision Support
Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports, including statistics on equipment operating hours, failure frequency, and maintenance efficiency. Analyze historical data to uate pump efficiency, predict equipment failure cycles, and guide preventive maintenance and energy-saving retrofits.
Work Order and Patrol Integration
Data is connected via API to property management systems and work order systems. When an alert or scheduled maintenance task is triggered, a work order is automatically generated and assigned to a technician, enabling closed-loop tracking and improving management standardization and response speed.
