IoT Solution for Industrial Park Reclaimed Water System Data Collection

Published: 2026-04-30 11:19:26

Reclaimed water refers to domestic or municipal wastewater that has undergone advanced treatment to remove various impurities, toxic and harmful substances, and certain heavy metal ions, followed by disinfection and sterilization. Once the treated water meets relevant quality standards, it can be reused for applications such as landscape irrigation and industrial processes. This approach conserves water and improves overall water resource efficiency.

An industrial park has built a reclaimed water system that includes an influent regulation tank, a membrane treatment facility, a reclaimed water storage tank, a reclaimed water pump room, an electrical distribution room, and supporting infrastructure. The park now needs to collect data from this system into its central management platform to enable visual monitoring and management of wastewater discharge volume, reclaimed water flow rates, and water quality parameters.

To address this need, WideIOT provides a highly reliable and efficient IoT solution.

By deploying industrial IoT gateways in the reclaimed water treatment facility and connecting them to water treatment equipment PLCs, water quality analyzers, and other devices, the system can collect real-time data on equipment status, process parameters, and water quality. The data is then transmitted to the park's management platform via 5G, 4G, WiFi, or Ethernet, enabling remote monitoring, alarming, management, control, and data analysis capabilities. This significantly improves operational management and work efficiency.

Key Capabilities

  • Real-Time Water Quality and Flow Monitoring
Continuously monitor key indicators such as influent flow rate, water level, turbidity, pH value, chemical oxygen demand (COD), and ammonia nitrogen levels to track changes in wastewater volume and quality at the source.

  • Automated Reporting
Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering core metrics including wastewater received, reclaimed water produced, water quality compliance rate, equipment operating hours, and energy consumption per ton of water treated.

  • Customizable Alerts
Set custom alarm thresholds for any parameter. When abnormal values are detected, the system automatically notifies responsible personnel via SMS, instant messaging, email, or other channels, enabling fast identification, diagnosis, and corrective action.

  • Remote Equipment Control
Operators can remotely monitor and control equipment status—such as starting or stopping pumps and opening or closing valves—without needing to be physically present on site. This improves response times and operational efficiency.
