A certain water utility company strives to build a smart water plant, with the water intake pumping station undertaking the crucial task of drawing water from nearby water sources and delivering it to the water pumps. The site includes equipment such as water intake pumps, electric butterfly valves, submersible sewage pumps in the sump, air supply and exhaust fans, high- and low-voltage power transformation and distribution rooms, and raw water quality monitoring instruments, all of which are automatically controlled through PLCs. In response, WideIOT provides an efficient and reliable IoT solution.
By deploying industrial gateways on-site to connect to the PLCs, the system can upload the real-time status of pumping station equipment and process parameters to the smart water plant management platform via 4G networks. Simultaneously, it can receive remote diagnostic commands and program update packages issued by the management layer, supporting remote PLC program downloading and parameter debugging, thus achieving efficient collaboration between on-site control and remote management. Additionally, it can integrate cameras in areas such as the pump rooms and power distribution rooms to enable integrated management of production and security scenarios.

Furthermore, the system enables real-time monitoring of the operational status of equipment such as water intake pumps, electric butterfly valves, submersible sewage pumps, and exhaust fans, as well as parameters like shaft temperature and stator temperature. It also provides remote control over the start-stop switching of pump sets and the on-off operations of butterfly valves and fans. Additionally, it conducts online monitoring of raw water quality (indicators such as pH, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen), featuring functions such as regular data reporting and real-time push notifications for sudden alarms, providing digital support for the safe and stable operation of the pumping station and water supply scheduling.
Meanwhile, the gateway is equipped with multi-network redundancy and break-point resumption capabilities, enabling it to temporarily store collected data locally during network anomalies and upload it to the smart water plant management platform once the network is restored. This ensures data security and integrity, providing comprehensive and reliable data support for functions such as data statistics, querying, and analysis at the pumping station, thereby assisting in making scientific and rational decisions.
